Chinese Stainless Steel Demand Arise At Least 8%+
China’s demand for stainless steel may rise as much as 8 percent this year by government stimulate spending inner consumption in the world’s largest metals consumer, said an economist with TISCO chief manager.
Demand may rise to 6.76 million metric tons this year, with government spending accounting for 500,000 tons of additional consumption; China’s government has pledged 4 trillion RMB ($585 billion) in spending on housing, railways and other infrastructure to support sagging growth, raising metal demand. TISCO China and Baosteel has returning the capacity by 80% in frist quarter, it seems very optimistic in the market trends.

NA Stainless Increase Stock Prices
North American Stainless Inc. (NAS) is raising prices on stainless steel products that it has in stock.
While some stainless industries sources believe, it's merely an effort to charge customers for immediate service, others believe mills which normally lead on price decreases—is trying to increase profits and quell its profit hemorrhage.
The increase is affecting to hot-rolled and cold-rolled sheet materials, on the other hand, for the productions for the mills may still depends on the market trend for the near future. .

EU producers drop anti-dumping case against Asia Steel Markers
European steel industry association had decided to withdraw an anti-dumping complaint against imports of cold-rolled flat stainless steel from Asia steel makers due to the economic downturn.
The European Commission, which rules on anti-dumping cases in the European Union (EU), had made the commitment to install a monitoring mechanism which will provide almost real time information on import flows and to use all the possibilities for an early and accelerated imposition of measures in the event of a re-filed case provoked by a surge of imports.
The major EU steel producers such as Arcelor Mittal and Thyssen Krupp, filed an anti-dumping complaint against cold-rolled flat stainless steel imported from China, Taiwan, Korea in December 2007, prompting the commission to open investigation two months later.

ArcelorMittal partially recovers stainless output in Brazil
ArcelorMittal Inox Brasil's stainless steel production reached 60% of its full capacity this month, it has been informed by the local Acesita Distributors.
It is expected to reach 70% of its nominal crude stainless capacity by June, once it brings its second blast furnace back online by mid-May.
As demand been show is incoming strongly, by the local traders, a certain periods for de-stocking shall be come the end and also been informing that the export of commodities may arise the demand of stainless steel consumption.

The source, however, says export volumes are at 30% of the levels seen before the current global financial crisis. ArcelorMittal's press office in Brazil confirmed to that the mill's exports to the US have diminished, as the country has significantly reduced its purchases in general later quarter.

Acerinox seeks €100/t stainless price hike
Spanish stainless steel producer Acerinox is to apply a price increase of €100/tonne, the company informed to other stockiest formally. The increase covers all European transaction prices deliveries from 2nd April.

According to Acerinox, the decision had been based on its current order intake after reviewing the market situation.

This follows other European mills also raising their base prices by around €100/t - however none has yet secured it.

Nevertheless, if Acerinox does secure the €100/t increase, its effective prices for mainstream 300series will continuously seeking and depending of the market demand, despite the falling of alloy costs. Alloy surcharges properly will drops by 8% , on the other hands, to increase the base price of 300 series it may turn up to maintain the same price level for overall market since March /April.
